Manage what you offer and what supports it

Use Products for the catalog and Assets for the stock, units, tools, and locations behind it.

Products and Assets do different jobs#

AreaUse it for
Productsthe goods, services, rentals, or memberships you sell
Assetsstock, movements, units, equipment, and locations

Products only works in enabled business lines#

The current catalog manager supports:

  • Goods
  • Services
  • Rentals
  • Membership

There is no separate global catalog manager. If no catalog lines are enabled, the page tells you that directly.

Assets follows enabled capabilities#

Workspace capabilityMain tabs
InventoryStock, Movements, Locations
Service assetsAssets, Locations
Rental assetsAssets, Locations
Membership resourcesAssets, Locations
Combined capabilitiesone shared page with the relevant tabs

Good setup pattern#

  1. Create the offer in Products.
  2. Open Assets and choose the tab that matches the record.
  3. Add the stock, unit, tool, or location records that make the offer usable.
  4. Open the item detail when you need record-level changes.

Common blockers#

  • The catalog page looks wrong: check enabled capabilities and the current filters first.
  • Stock tabs are missing: you are not in Goods.
  • The catalog is correct but the team still cannot fulfill the work: the issue is usually in Assets, not Products.
